Kayijuka currently
serves as the founder and Managing Partner of NEXUS ATTORNEYS Ltd, a vibrant
Law firm in Rwanda. He is a retired senior officer from Rwanda Defense Force
and a highly experienced lawyer with over 20 years of legal practice.
He has been
respectively the Defense lawyer for five years, the Head of Legal Department in
the Ministry of Defense for one year, a Military Prosecutor for 14 years and he
resumed the Bar Association 7 years ago, totaling 11 years as defense advocate
and 14 years in prosecution.
He has served from
1997 to date as a lecturer at various universities in Rwanda both private and
public including the University of Rwanda, Institute for Legal Practice and
Development (ILPD), Rwanda Military Academy and Police Academy in the field of
Commercial Law, Company Law, Criminal Law and Criminal investigation. He
supervised several research works at the undergraduate level in Company law and
Corporate Governance, Criminal Law, Administrative Law, Evidence and other
domains of Law.
Kayijuka Ngabo holds a
Master`s Degree (LLM) in Criminal Justice and Human Rights from the University
of Aberdeen in the UK, a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Postgraduate Diploma in legal Practice
from ILPD. He is soon completing a
Bachelor`s Degree in Computer science from the Adventist University of Central
Africa (AUCA).
He is one of the
panelists at Kigali International Arbitration Centre (KIAC) where he has
chaired some completed cases.
Kayijuka’s
recent research interests lie in Cyber law and he is currently writing a book
entitled “Cybercrimes and Digital Forensics in Rwandan context†and an article
of journal entitled “The scope of MENS REA in the context of Automated
Offencesâ€.
